Middlesbrough update

Middlesbrough update

22nd July, 2009

As Nocci Middlesbrough progresses at great speed towards its goal of uniting the Tees Valley's creative and cultural industries, things are starting to change.

After a number of groundbreaking meetings with some of the area's key creative catalysts we have now eventually secured provisional funding for Nocci Middlesbrough which will mean better promotion and food and drink plus the introduction of some exciting special one-off Nocci events in very exciting unorthodox locations (watch this space for further infomation).

After meeting this week, with members of Middlesbrough's Institution of Digital Innovation we have agreed to change the date of Nocci to fall on the same day as the Universities Networking events which finish earlier and will provisionally be the 2nd Thursday rather than the last Thursday of every month.
This also phases out the problem of date clashes with Newcastle's Thursday Fizz events and Codework's Think And A Drink.

Events will now move between our native home of Uncle Alberts on Albert Road and the Brand New and extremely versatile Boho One building next to the Police Station. This will mean we are able to keep the event fresh.

SUMMER PARTY
The planned summer party has been postponed from the July event on the 30th which will run as a normal Nocci event, to August for a number of reasons at a very special and definitely cool outdoor location (all will be revealed soon) this will operate on an ltd intake policy and is strictly first come, first served!...

If you know anyone who wants to come to Nocci please bring them along to the event on the 30th at Uncle Alberts in Middlesbrough, the event will now start at 7.00pm rather than the previous 6pm start, as many stated you needed time to go home after work and get freshened up a little...

For those who STILL haven't attended a Nocci event here's a few reason's why you should.

1:) You be immersed within a group featuring many of the Tees Valley's more pro active creatives and cultural industry workers.

2:) You'll meet Middlesbrough's new graduate talent, so if you looking for new staff, heres a good place to start.

3:) Nocci is can be used to source some of the area's best freelance talent from photographers, textiles and surface pattern specialist's through to graphic designers and illustrators and on a face-to-face basis.

4:) As we're only creative and cultural based you won't feel irrelevant or like your wasting valuable networking time talking to dentist's or shipping consultants! (no offense, if your one of the aforementioned)

5:) Nocci is all about sharing, collaborating, building and developing creative sectors within the Tees valley and beyond so if we can help you, we will... if not,  we'll get you hooked up with people who can!

6:) As Nocci is very informal it's a great opportunity to have a few beers with like minded individuals swap contacts, make new friends and get your name about a little!

Apologies for the huge newsletter, but as you may know if you've had the pleasure of talking to me, if do tend to go on a bit....
