In February this year 33 year old Katherine Bown was diagnosed with breast cancer after discovering the lump during her honeymoon. Alongside fighting cancer, Katherine has set herself the amazing challenge of raising a million pounds for cancer charities, supported by the likes of the Welsh rugby squad. As friends of Katherine we are keen to help her reach that total, and will be proudly hosting the first ever Welsh screening of Sunshine Cleaning on 22nd June at UCI Cinema in Cardiff Bay. The event will be open to the public and will be aiming to raise as much money as possible towards Katherine's target, and contribute to the brilliant ongoing work done by Cancer Research UK.

The movie follows a single mum and her slacker sister as they find an unusal way to turn their lives around. Its stellar cast includes Oscar nominee Amy Adams, Oscar winner Alan Arkin, and Golden Globe winner Emily Blunt. The film debuted at Sundance Film Festival and has been receiving great reviews:

"Highly recommended" - Rolling Stone
"This bittersweet comedy is a fine showcase for a pair of distinctive and appealing talents" - New Rork Post
"You'll miss out on some really great stuff if you don't see this surprising movie" - Wall Street Journal
"A heartfelt and funny story of complicated family dynamics and life's bizarre twists" - USA Today

You can see the trailer on Youtube.

Please note: We will now be selling tickets on the door, so feel free to turn up on the night!
